Cloud pricing is opaque. Compass brings transparency by calculating cloud value for money index across all providers.

The Big Mac Index is published by The Economist as an informal way of measuring the purchasing power parity between currencies and countries. It seeks to make exchange-rate theory a bit more digestible. In a similar fashion, Compass is indexing purchasing power parity between currencies, cloud providers and processing power of VMs. Cloud offers are complex and complicated, so indexing all of them for easy comparison brings transparency to the cloud industry.

  • This index is an experiment to provide an indicator by which you can estimate your purchasing power in different cloud service provider.

  • At the moment the index is calculated solely for Virtual machines, and we are using only RAM, CPU and GPU.

  • This index should not be your only reason to choose a provider to a provider. The index is calculated based on public pricing data.

Get start by selecting providers and locations.
